What is Bury LETS?

Bury LETS is a closed economic system in which members exchange goods and services using its own internal currency called "Abbots".

A central accounting system records the balances of members' accounts.

Members learn about each other through the monthly newsletter, LETS Exchange and the accompanying directory. This contains members' details, goods and services offered or wanted, and dates for social events.

Bury LETS hold a monthly marketplace where members can meet socially, trade, and attend demonstrations and talks.

LETS has a very enjoyable social aspect, bringing members of the local community together. In addition to the monthly marketplace meetings there are other social events ranging from quiz nights to organised walks.
